7 STEPS TO KEEP YOUR HEART HEALTHY & STRONG
Every year, we celebrate World Heart Day on 29th September, which is organized by the World heart federation to spread awareness about heart disease and its associated problems.
Any condition which affects the functioning of the cardiovascular system is referred to as Heart disease. More than 17 million people, every year, die from heart diseases. It is the leading cause of death for both men and women.
If you want to keep your heart healthy and strong, follow these given 7 steps:
1. Check your blood pressure regularly
Blood pressure is the pressure or force of your blood against the walls of your arteries. When the heart beats, it pumps some blood into the arteries. It is a vital part of your heart that describes how your heart is circulating the blood in the body.
Normal blood pressure for an adult is 120/80 mm Hg, where 120 is described as systolic and 80 diastolic. If you are suffering from a high blood pressure problem then take homeopathic medicine for high bp.
If Blood pressure remains high for a long time, it can be a risk factor for heart disease. Chances of having ongoing high blood pressure increases as we age.
2. Reduce your salt intake
High salt intake in the diet can raise your blood pressure, which can result in an increased risk of suffering from heart disease or stroke.
The recommended daily intake of salt for an adult is 6g and for children, it is 3g. Try to cut down on your salt intake in your kitchen and avoid adding more to the dinner table.
Also, check your food labels to be aware, how much salt you’re eating in processed foods.
3. Limit saturated fat in your diet
We need fats in our diet for energy. Eat healthy fats, not trans fats. Fats include saturated, unsaturated, and polyunsaturated fats. Saturated fat is a type of dietary fat. It is one of the unhealthy fats, along with trans-fat.
Taking too much-saturated fat such as in palm oil, butter, sausages, cakes & pastries, cheese, ghee, fatty meats, dairy fats, and processed foods such as pastries and cakes are believed to increase cholesterol levels.
High cholesterol or triglycerides can clog the arteries. Blockage can cause arteriosclerosis resulting in high blood pressure and ultimately heart attack. Patients who are suffering from High cholesterol problems can take cholesterol homeopathic medicine.
Homeopathy is safe & does not have any known side effects. So, switch to low-fat dairy foods instead of full-fat ones, industry-produced fats often used in packaged baked goods, snack foods, margarine, and fried fast foods to add flavor and texture.
4. Eat more fruits and veggies
Potassium helps to lower blood pressure. You can increase the amount of potassium in your diet by eating fruits and vegetables. You can also use low B.P homeopathic medicine for instant relief.
The nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and fibers present in fruits and veggies help keep your heart strong & healthy. Some fruits and veg such as sweet potato, mango, citrus fruits, beans, and pulses are also rich in soluble fibers, which help to lower the cholesterol level in your blood and reduce the risk of heart disease.
5. Quit smoking
Quitting smoking may be tough for most people, but understand one thing that smoking is one of the main causes of cardiovascular disease.
As per a study, smokers are almost two times at risk to have a heart attack compared with non-smoker. Smoking not only damages the lining of your arteries but also reduces the amount of oxygen in your blood resulting in raised blood pressure.
6. Do some exercise
Studies show that physically inactive people are more likely to have a heart attack than those who are physically active.
If you want to lower the risk of developing coronary heart disease, do some exercise regularly. A brisk walk for 30 minutes daily can help to keep your heart active and healthy.
7. Keep stress under control
Excessive stress can lead to indulging in bad habits like smoking, drinking and drug addictions. Stress also causes overeating and not doing exercise or physical work. All these activities can lead to heart diseases.
Yoga and meditation have an antidepressant effect and suppress stress hormones by stimulating your pineal gland. Doing regular meditation decreases the stress in your life.
So, try to keep your stress level under control. If you are suffering from stress, there is a homeopathic medicine for stress management.
